Reasonably priced places to eat?

We are looking to go to Palm Beach shores in May. I've heard this is a pretty upscale area? Wondering if there are reasonably priced restaurants nearby, not fast food, but just some good seafood and steaks and such.

Thanks

A few questions:

Will you have a car?

What do you consider to be reasonable?

Are you planning to go to Palm Beach or Palm Beach Shores? They are two different places.

Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

City Place & Clematis Street: these areas are in downtown West Palm Beach - a short drive from Palm Beach Shores / Singer Island. City Place is an outdoor shopping/entertainment center. There are many restaurants (BB Kings, Mellow Mushroom, City Cellar, Cheescake Factory etc....)

Clematis Street is a street in WPB with many local restaurants - Longboards, Cabana, Roco's Tacos, ER Bradleys etc...

A few more restaurants a short drive away:

River House: great steaks & seafood - nice ambiance

Captain Charlie's Reef Grill - wonderful seafood

Toojay's: several locations - local deli type place - large menu - reasonable prices

Thank you for your quick response Sarah. Didn't know there were 2 separate places, but Palm Beach Shores.

Not sure if we need a car to get around, how is the public transportation, and is it worth taking a taxi to and from Ft. Lauderdale or should we do the rental?

Reasonable, meal prices 15 - 20, except of course lobster/filet mignon/etc.

Also, are they dressy or casual places along the beach?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Not sure if you have gone yet but Palm Beach Shores is basically a small island and I would suggest a car unless you hardly plan to leave the resort. There are a few nice places to eat within walking distance... sailfish marina is nice as well as Johnny longboats and pbsr resort has a great bar/restaurant called the islander. There is a small shopping center nearby and public or Walmart within a few minutes drive. We are headed there again next week. We love it there and I'm sure you will also.

Green's Pharmacy for a big cheap breakfast and Testa's for dinner. Amazingly, thay side of PB (near Royal Poinciana Way) has a few good options and Testa's has a great early bird. Tweet! Tweet!

We did go in May and loved it. Before we left we went on Restaurant.com and found a bunch of places. The coupons helped with price, and it got us to go to places that we never would have tried or known about.
