Launch Cape Canaveral

Whilst on holiday there is a planned rocket launch from Cape Canaveral on the 4th May@6pm. We are planning to go to the Kennedy space centre for a look around in the morning and then in the evening try and find a spot to watch it from.

Can any of you recomend somewhere that has a good viewing point?

Do you think it will be visable from any of the nearby beaches?

Thanks,

Flip

1. Re: Launch Cape Canaveral

flip, the following are mentioned on the NASA website as being the best vantage points if you cannot get a ticket.

State Road 528 over the Indian River (the Bennett Causeway) and the Banana River

Jetty Park at Port Canaveral, just south of the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station

(Call 321-783-7111 for information regarding park hours and admission fees)

Off State Road A1A along the Atlantic Ocean in Cocoa Beach

Along the Indian River on U.S. Highway 1, especially in Titusville

Flip,

I have just found out that Kennedy Space centre is closed to visitors on some launch days so you may want to find out if this is the case before you go driving out there in the morning.
