Family Beaches near Orlando

I wanted to start this topic again since the last response was several years ago. Can someone reccommend a nice family beach to travel to when we are there in March. I know this is Spring Break for many and we would like to avoid the college parties on the beach.

Do a search on Beach on the forum, there are literally hundreds of threads on this.

Do you want the Nicest, or the closest? Less spring breakers on the gulf coast at St Pete/Ft DeSoto (or even none) but it is almost 2 hours whereas the closer Cocoa Beach one hour away will have some spring breakers.

I agree. This is a very, very commonly asked topic.

We went to Daytona beach in 2008 and were shocked to see cars are allowed on the beach they are allowed to drive between the sunbathing area and the sea.

Which is one reason I tend not to recommend it, esp to those with small children. But no one suggested it here.

There are other beaches on the East coast that allow it in the area as well.

Not opposed to driving a couple hours to get to a quieter, no cars on the beach area. I saw all the posts on beaches, they just looked a few years old.

the beaches have not changed. They are all still good information.

Fort DeSoto and St pete beach are the nicest nearest. Cocoa is the nearest.

Allowing cars on the beach is a really really stupid practice

You have to sort your search by date. There were threads days ago, and weeks ago.

And, one or two yesterday if you will take the time to scroll back a few pages.

Carmela, they have been doing that ever since they used to race on the beach decades ago. There is a bar in Ponce Inlet called the North Turn to signify where they used to race before the speedway was built.

Well, it's time they ended the driving on the beach. It is totally irresponsible in terms of both safety and the environment
