Downtown Orlando

Is Downtown Orlando worth a visit?? I've been to orlando a number of times and have never ventured out of Disney & Universal, so never explored other parts of Orlando.

If you want to venture a bit further try a trip to one of the coasts or Winter Park. I would recommend that you buy a copy of Brits Guide to Orlando which is updated every year and has a section "off the beaten track" with a few ideas.

Been once to Downtown Orlando. There are a few museums/Science centers there that may be of interest.

Kennedy Space Center is another option and could be combined with a day visiting one of the Atlantic coast resorts.

Very expensive if you factor in a taxi fare!

Peronally I'd stick with the tourist areas but there are clubs downtown if you wish.

Here is a link that may be of interest.

and here is the comedy club in downtown -

Can I also say there is a section on Orlando by night in the book I mentioned.

PS I did not write it and am in no way linked just a big fan of it.

Downtown Orlando is well worth the visit. You get a taste of the real Orlando and get to see some interesting local cultural attractions and beautifull parks. And YES, there is plenty of nightlife in Downtown Orlando, the newest club is Club Paris by Paris Hilton. There is also a big movie-plex and enterntainment complex that is currently under construction and is set to open at the end of this year in the heart of downtown. There are also many fine dining restaurants. Winter Park is basically on the north edge of downtown and is well worth a visit, Park Avenue is filled with little shops, boutiques, restaurants, side-walk cafes, and beautifull brick-lined streets.
