Polynesian resort ££!!!!!

We are looking at staying here next year for 5 nights before moving on to a villa just for the experience. 2 adults 2 children. I priced it kline, room only, and it was coming out at just under $4000 just for the room!!! Is this pretty standard?!

No, not for a standard room. Was it for a Bungalow ? Or Club level ?

What are your dates ?

may depend on when you're going, and room type. I can see this price for an upgraded theme park view room. Even more for club level.

OMG - have never found ANYthing at the Polynesian with that price - more like $600+ US dollars.

Quick story - my parents took me to Disney World in the early 1970s, shortly after it opened, and the rooms at the Polynesian were around $30/night (with an increase going into effect after we left which raised it to about $50/night!). My, times have changed!

$30 in 1970 would be around $190 in today's buying power (CPI and inflation adjusted), I agree with you that time have changed, rates starts at $450, just like Gordon saying "Greed is good".

So based on the above calculation Disney have increased there theoretical profit as much as the CPI and inflation and then some, LOL (don't take the last increased profit calculation to serious).

Early, mid, or late August? August is a transition month between peak summer prices and somewhat lower late summer/early autumn prices.

£3000 to £4000 sounds about right for 5 nights in May.

Club level garden view £3,135

all the way up to the presidential suite for £9,500

The top hotels in Disney ain't cheap - and at Christmas/New Year it is *eye-watering*.

It's a lagoon view standard room, 7th August.

We specifically want to do a Disney hotel before moving out to a villa for a couple of weeks.

It must be the time of year making it expensive.
