Favorite cruise/activity for this time of year?

Does anyone have a favorite cruise excursion for this time of the year? We've done many cruises including the Cayo Costa shelling, but were wondering if the water might be a too cold for a shelling/swim stop. Or should we look into a private boat and go elsewhere? We've never stopped at the restaurant/bar on North Captiva for lunch, is that worthwhile? Thanks very much!

The weather has been so fantastic lately that you might just get in the water! I was on the Island last week and we actually shelled in our bathing suits ( temps were in the low 80's ) and this Northerner went in the water. It was cool, but refreshing! Water temps are typically mid 60's this time of year, so too cold for most! Air temps average mid 70's.

I haven't done this cruise yet, but the Eco-Heritage Cruise to Pine Island with Captiva Cruises sounds very interesting.

The Edison Ford Estate Cruise goes up the Caloosahatchee River, again offered by Captiva Cruises.

Both Include lunch and a tour.

Heading further South will get you a tad bit warmer, there is a day trip to Key West that runs out of Fort Myers.

We've done the ferry to Key West and really enjoyed. If you do the same day return you'll spend about 5 hours on Key West. Its enough time to walk to a few of the sites and eat a good meal. It will eat up a whole day though. You won't get back before 9:00 or so in the evening.
