Seasonal Rentals

I want to rent a place for March 2013, one month. I am looking in the Gulfshore Blvd. area as I love it there. I have sent out numerous requests for availability and almost no one responds. When they do, they say they want only to rent 2 or more months, even though their website says 30 days. I am very frustrated. I have to get my plans made well in advance. Can you recommend a site where owners actually respond and update their calendars and are interested in renters that can plan ahead? I have checked with rentnaples and they advised that owners do not want to book for one month.

Try using a vacation rental company that doesn't require a lease. Most vacation rental companies out there require you to sign a lease even for a month, but there are some companies that do not and will rent the month of March with no issues. PM if you have any questions and I will be more than happy to help you

Thank you all for your replies. In the past week I sent out 22 requests on Vrbo and 3 replied, with 2 perfect possibilities. I appereciate the recommendations. Prior to this week I had sent out many reqests through Vrbo with almost no replies. I am grateful to the conscientious owners who actually care about their potential renters by responding.

Thank you all for your responses. I gave up and have booked a hotel for one week in February. I guess the owners in Naples simply have too many people who can afford to get away for 2 months or more. I just wish they would stipulate in their avatar that they only want renters who can rent for 2 months or more and UPDATE their calendars to reflect when they have rented their units out. Believe me, I WISH I could afford more than one month, but I can't. In 2013, I will simply do one week. Maybe 2014 will be better.

I've been renting through VRBO for 3 seasons now and have found that about 60% of the people I contact don't respond. You have to figure that it's for the best, since you wouldn't want to rent from someone who won't get back to you if there's a problem once you're in their property.

Yes, it's frustrating, but evidently there are more renters than rentals.
