Upscale beachfront hotel-not a party atmosphere?

Taking a long weekend in Miami beach without our 1 year old (yay)--we're a couple in our late 30s looking to be on the beach, in a high-end hotel with good pools, oceanview from balcony, and not a big party atmosphere. So far, The Setai looks good, but at that price, I thought I'd check for alternative recommendations before booking!

Thanks!

stayed at W last year and Z Ocean this year. Both very good. W is bigger, more of a party atmosphere. It had a nicer pool area but there were kids there (throwing a football around the pool, etc.). Like you, we were there to escape our 5 children, ha, ha.

We liked the Z Ocean better, more of a botique hotel and the location is great. The pool is small (located on 2nd floor above the Lobby) and there are some rooms right off the pool deck. We actually never used the pool but used the beach which is across the street though the park. They have chair and towel service there that they contract out (share same station with The Betsy). Definately, not a party hotel. In fact, the lobby bar closes down pretty early. For the same if not cheaper price than the W, you can get a room with a roof-top sun deck and hot tub versus a standard room at the W (or Setai for that matter). So you will lose the "resort" feel of the W (beverage and lunch service by the pool, beach, etc.). We were fine with that and didn't mind walking 20 feet to a beach stand to buy a bottle of water or to starbucks for a frozen beverage. If you really want a bigger hotel with a more resort feel, plush grounds and pool area the Z Ocean is probably not for you.

Ocean view room in the north building of the Savoy or the same at the Sagamore. Also, the Tides.

does the King and Grove Tides have rooms with Double beds? I see all the sales are for King beds.

Thanks!

e-mail or call the hotel, but i would be surprised if they didn't have a least one room with two double beds. Don't remember if the couch opens up.
