Restaurants? First time in Miami.

I'll be at the Hotel Intercontinental tomorrow. Any restaurant suggestions? I'm willing to take a taxi to South Beach or any other relatively close area. Seafood or Cuban would be good. Good quiet atmosphere, not too expensive, say $30 to $50.

There are inexpensive places nearby and more traditional seafood restaurants just a short, free metromover ride away...

Consider having a casual Cuban lunch and a more extravagant Seafood dinner.

Right across the street from the hotel at 333 Se 2nd St is a Cuban coffee window called Cafe Con Leche Express. Have just ONE or stay awake all night...

You can have a fabulous array of super sweet Cuban Pastry at Don Pan 127 SE 2nd Ave.

Floridita is a Cuban luncheonette facing the fabulous discount jewelry exchange Seybold Building 36 NE 1ST St (entrance faces Macy*s Dept Store on Flagler Street and there are 2 cafes - one inside the jewelry arcade and one at the far end on 1st street at the back end of the arcade). The Cuban lunch counter is a way of life here in Miami...

Across the street from your hotel is Navarre, a Spanish bistro with a lovely paella and a few Spanish style Bacalao (cod) dishes. Navarre Restaurant 353 SE 2nd Street Tel. 305-373-7202

Just north of your place is a WONDERFUL Indonesian restaurant that serves a combination of sushi and cooked seafood platters that are awesome! Garuda Indonesia Restaurant. (305) 374-9015. 152 Se 1st Ave, Miami

If you hop on the free people mover (Brickell Loop) you can pop over the river to River Oyster Bar - one of the best in the city. River Oyster Bar, The. http://www.therivermiami.com 650 South Miami Avenue.

A few stops further south is Oceanaire, a traditional seafood house that's probably the most upscale (and worth it) Oceanaire Restaurant (great classic seafood). 900 S Miami Ave, 305-372-8862

Enjoy!
