Should we avoid "mini lobster" week for Family vacation?

Should we avoid "mini lobster" week for Family vacation? We are going with our kids...and trying to narrow down the week in July, so let me know your thoughts

I don't know of anything during this time that would make it something to be avoided. What are you worried about?

If you are not going to be on the water, then you won't be hugely affected by mini lobster season. The hotels do hike their rates that week. The Miami crowd who invades the Keys for mini season neither stays in the hotels nor eats in the restaurants. They only come to take lobster.

The middle Keys get more of the Central and North FL crowd - they do spend their days on the water and at night usually cooking wherever they are staying. Not usually a nice crowd, they are here for lobster and nothing but lobster and will do whatever it takes to take them. The lower end motels fill up, Publix, gas stations and Subway are busy but not usually the tourist attractions.
