Anyone build their own Key West experience at home?

We weren't even planning on moving... but found a great deal on a 2acre property with an in-ground pool, yet still close to everything. While there is a large cleared area, there are a lot of trees and woods so a decent amount of privacy.

Really looking to make the back yard a Key West experience at home.

Pool is not too far of the house, so it will be pavers to connect to the lower level door, and an outdoor bar off the back of the house.

What have you done?

We put herring bone brick paving in our back yard - I think that is a very distinctively KW look and feel

We have a Key Westy kitchen. Light peach walls, light colored trim, ceiling fan, bright, airy with several pieces of KW art on the walls. Hubby wants a new table and chair set in white or ivory to lighten it even more. A now huge palm tree also resides in there helping to recreate the KW feeling. Our son bought the palm tree as a very, very young thin plant in the Fort Lauderdale airport on our way back from a KW trip in 2007. His plant savvy gf told him it would never survive. Well, not only has it survived, it has flourished. We re-potted it several times. Next time will have to be a 55 gallon drum!

We've talked about doing something at our seasonal campsite, like maybe a tiki bar, so I'd also be interested in seeing what others have done!

Don't forget a few bottles of rum and tequila for table top decorations, preferably at least half full. Try some of those plastics lights of palm trees and chili peppers to hang around the edge of your umbrellas.
