Also seeking general snorkeling advice...

In my last posting I asking about Fort Zachary Taylor State Park as a snorkeling/swimming spot. I'll be in Key West over Easter weekend for a wedding, and my sisters and I have one full day without family obligations. We're really just looking to do some casual snorkeling and splashing around, and we're NOT looking to spend hundreds on an hour long charter. FZTSP so far sounds like a good bet, but any other advice would be great! Thanks!

Don't bother snorkeling near the shore. You need to take a short trip out to the reefs. There are many snorkeling places around Mallory Square and just about any dock. You can do a half day for 30-40 bucks. I went on one last Sat. (Jan 22) 1 hour out, 1 hour snorkeling, 1 hour back. Just right.

I think we paid $40 for a half-day snorkel with Floridays.
