Ft Zachary Taylor State Park along the rocks and Higgs Beach along the old pier are decent. Nothing like what you'll see on the reef. Perhaps she would join you and enjoy the relaxing boat ride and just stay on the boat while you snorkel?
Go up to Bahia Honda, the snorkeling from the beach is good if you know what you are looking at. It's a great place to see s bunch of small critters.
If the weather co-operates and there's no wind for several days you can have great snorkeling off the beaches on the south side of Key West.
You can rent lounges and umbrellas at Ft. Zachary Taylor, Higgs and even small South Beach, at the end of Duval. The best snorkeling will be at Ft. Zach, then Higgs and even at South Beach you can find things inside the old pipeline under the pier or under the docks to the left.
All 3 places have restaurants right off the sand.
I like Bahia Honda, but for good snorkeling you need calm tides, so you'd have to check the date and tides and plan for snorkeling when the tide isn't flowing out (or in). The water rushing from Bayside to Oceanside can be like a river over by the bridge and visibility is poor. Too say nothing of how hard it is to try and photograph a huge stingray while being pushed along by the tide!
But it's a nice park to tour and they do have a variety of beaches and nice showers!
The forecast the next few days doesn't look good for snorkeling and our near shore waters are cloudy. Hopefully it will clear up soon, but I don't think you will have good conditions the next few days.
