What to do in Key Largo with a one and a half year old

We just moved to south Florida and will take advantage of close proximity to Key Largo. What is there to do that isn't diving related? We have a one and a half year old so diving is out for us. Looking for anything for a good day trip or weekend trip. Restaurants, things to see and do. THANK YOU!

Take that youngster to John Pennekamp State Park. The visitor center has a big aquarium and the little one will be fascinated by the fish swimming by. When the little one gets tired of the fish (in about 5 minutes) go find "Far Beach" (still in Pennekamp) and play in the water with your little one. Bring sand castle making equipment and have fun there. Make another stop at the visitor center and watch the fish again (short attention span is expected of this young of child).

Thank you for the suggestions, both sound great for us. Any recommendations on a restaurant for lunch or early dinner?

At MM 77 is Robbie's - never been there myself - but I hear they feed the tarpon there and is great entertainment.

The Islamorada Fish House at MM 81 has a tarpon and shark pool and it is great fun to watch them. Also a good outdoors place for lunch.

Our favorite restaurant in Key Largo is Mrs. Mac's Kitchen.

Mrs Mac's is a great family style place where young ones are welcome. Also a fav stop of ours is on the Card Sound Rd between FL City and Key Largo. Alabamba Jack's is open air on the water and we have seen manatee right off their deck many times. Another great place to relax with a little one. The Islamorada Fish Co tarpon/shark pool is great fun. Buy some bait at the tackle shop on the dock and watch the fun begin! We also enjoy Outdoor World at the same place (Bass Pro Shop). They have some cute kid stuff too! SO many good casual restaurants in the upper Keys! Sharkey's and Pilot House, Doc's Diner and Key Largo Cafe (awesome old style italian) are good options in Key Largo as is the Buzzard's Roost. The beach at Pennekamp is good for toddlers with calm waters. Enjooy
