Indian Rocks vs Tampa vacation rental with 2 children

Hello, we are a family of 4 - children aged 6 and 4. We plan to go shopping, Busch Gardens, Zoo and aquarium. I have narrowed it down to 2 vacation rentals on Indian Rocks Beach - Oceanway (owner managed) and Sun and Sea (managed by Plumlee). Is anyone familiar with these properties?

I also found a Tampa vacation home rental on a canal with a pool in the Town and Country area. I am wondering what is the best location to do all of the above and not have to drive a long time or sit in traffic. We plan to spend 3 nights at Sandpearl and 8 nights in a vacation home.

Thank you.

Town and Country is not near anything you want to do. It's a residential area clogged with traffic during rush hour.

I would opt for the beach every time -- if you really felt it necessary, you could get a hotel in Tampa for a night or two.

T&C is closer to Busch Gardens, the zoo, and the aquarium mileage-wise. But, there is not much of any interest to tourists there. It is just a residential suburb. I would also pick to stay at the beach. Then while not at one of the above places, you will have the beaches between Clearwater Beach and St. Pete Beach to see, restaurants, shops, activities, things of interest, etc.

Are you familiar with Oceanway or Sun and Sea condos?

I've stay at Oceanway and next door to its sister property Oceanside. The units are individually owned so your experience will vary given the amenities of the specific unit. However, they have a great pool and are located at good sections of the beach. IRB is a great beach especially for young families - no hassles, no rift raft. The less you plan to do the more you will enjoy it especially with those little ones.
