Thank you so much for your information, we, ourselves have been to that area before. We are familiar with Lido and Longboat more than the northern points. Appreciate as we have avid fisherman from Alaska coming in our party, that wanted house/pool/dock/boat!!!! We agree if we lived up there all winter! So, as you can see, your info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again, and welcome any other area tips on dining, and people friendly places.

Denephew.

When (or even if you don't) have your boat, you can motor over to Pattigeorge's for dinner on the bay (about mid-island on Longboat), or to MarVista or to Moore's (both at the North End of Longboat), for dinner.

Transportation without a car is difficult in this area. From Sarasota/Bradenton Airport you'll probably need to take a taxi; Diplomat cabs are onsite, Bruce's is a reliable one you'd want to call for in advance. From Tampa, you'd probably want to take a limo; try Google to see which ones are available. As for food, Publix is the largest local grocery chain, and a good one; there's a Publix on the island. Once you get onto Holmes Beach, there's a trolley that runs up and down the island, and also connects with a trolley that goes down Longboat to St. Armands Circle (nice shops/restaurants) and into downtown Sarasota.
