Bars / Restaurants Mid-Island?

We're headed to Ft Myers Beach for the first time in December. We enjoy good restaurants and bars with atmosphere and good food/drinks. We are staying at Smugglers Cove which i believe is mid-island. Any suggestions for food/drink? We are willing to jump on the trolley or in a cab to head to Times Square or wherever, just not sure of the best spots.. Anything near our Condo (Smugglers)? Or is it well worth the trip to the north end? Thanks!!

You are across from a Publix Grocery and Snookbight Marina which will have a Restaurant but is not open yet. Jump a trolley to North end.Pancake House for brfst/lunch-is behind Wachovia Bank. Heavenly Biscuit is on Mango across from the Market. Diamondhead Resort has restaurants/bars. Terra Nostra will be on the right at Fun Rentals, just on the other side of the Hardware is Beachcombers Sports Bar, Reeses Restaurant for breakfast, lunch only. Hooters is across the street. Lani Kai is spring break hdqts, they have 5 bars-be sure to ride the elevator up to the rooftop for a GR8 view. The Gulfshore Cottage and Beached Whale are across from each other, both GR8 views. Surf Club is a locals bar and liquor store, "church" is there every Sunday= dollar bloody marys til noon!!

Barking Shark is across from McD's. Time Square has Burrito A GoGo, Wahoo Willies, Top O Mast, Pirside, Plaka-all have indoor/outdoor dining. Lighthouse at the base of the bridge has a Tiki Bar and food. Yucatan is brand new, Smoking Oyster has a full bar, Matanzas Inn and Snug Harbor have back bay views. Over the bridge is Fish Monger-its stone crab claw season....

We ate at Snug Harbour and found it to be very good although as the previous poster mentioned it's not on the beach.

We also ate at Athony's on the Beach. We sat outside watching the sunset and had a pretty decent meal.

Turn right and go down to the shopping mall much easier for traffic they loggershead and another seafood place also outriggers for drinks and food. When going left I can walk faster than the trsffic moves

Go to Villa Santini at the south end of the island to eat at South Beach Grill. Very good food.
