Accommodation at Port Everglades

We are on a criuse in Sept, 2007 and are looking for a hotel close to where the cruise ships depart. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks Nicky

Some that are fairly close and provide complementary shuttles to the Port are the Sleep Inn in Dania , Florida- south of the Port and the Holiday Inn Express Airport/Seaport and Hampton Inn on SW 24. St. All have free breakfast as well. There are other hotels on that street, but not as nice as those. Red Roof Inn and Rodeway Inn are horrid- avoid those at any cost.

The Hotels on SW 17th St are close to the port , but tend to be high in price and not all provide free shuttles- the policies are very spotty there. Holiday Inn Express Convention Center and Extended Stay are the more moderately priced and very nice- but I don't think either does a free shuttle. The cab fare would be fairly low, however, perhaps $10-$15 so if their rtaes are low it woud not be a problem really. You would be right around the corner from the Port but the taxi fare would include an access fee that must be paid to the Port , as well as the time it takes to clear the security gate, which can vary.
