Fernandina Beach/Amelia 2 month stay

Hello

My husband and I and our well-behaved fun dog are thinking of escaping Feb and March of 2009. Would this be a good place to go and be able to walk into town? We have not been there in about 8 years and are fortunate to be able to take the time. Thank you.

The Island is very walkable and for the most part pet friendly (as long as you clean up after your animal and keep them on a leash--per local ordinance). Depending on what part of the Island you choose to stay, you can walk to just about everything you'll need (grocery, pharmacy, restaurants, etc.) within, say half an hour.

Fernandina is a great walking city and one that is pet friendly. As dbubkass said, have to have the responsibility to clean-up after your dog; but you will finds lots of others walking their dog on one of the many Egan's Creek Greenway paths or on the sidewalks throughout the historic district.

Be sure to stop by one of the pet treat bakery shops for that special reward for your dog.

Have a great time.

Dave
