I'm visiting Destin next week. I'm concerned about jellyfish. Are there many of them in the water?Wantsumsunokcok

Mote Marine Lab's Beach Conditions Report might be useful, though it doesn't report directly on jellyfish.

I walked the beach yesterday and didn't see any. The purple flags are not flying. Unless the weather brings them in you should be fine.

Thank you for taking your time to check this out! I'm assuming the water is still quite cold, but w some sun it may feel just right. This is my 1st time to visit Destin and I am so looking forward to my visit. Thank you again!

Water temps are in the mid 70's right now. Plenty of people in the water so must be okay after the initial shock. When you are here just keep any eye on the flags - If red flags are flying - do not go in above your knees- might have rip currents. Today is yellow. Water looks fine for a swim. If purple flag gets put out just look around for jellies - the odds are they won't be there - but purple means there have been jellies or some other marine life sighted somewhere in the county. Have only seen jellies out once about a month ago and then it was just a few on the beach.
