Cobia Season

Cobia season began March 1st! Water temperatures along the coastline were almost favorable for cobia to begin showing up before cooling down again. Ideal water temperatures are from the upper 60's to low 70's. Each spring, cobia migrate from the Florida Keys along the Gulf Coast to Texas. The clear emerald waters of Northwest Florida make it ideal for site fishing the tasty gamefish. The Destin Cobia Tournament begins March 1st and ends April 30th. Harbor Docks Cobia World Championships begin March 23rd! Visit www.destincobiatournament.com and www.cobiaworldchampionships.com for tournament info.

1. Re: Cobia Season

HarborWalk cancelled this years cobia tourny, I think you have a link to last years' event. The Harbor Docks cobia tourny is still going on...it's confusing.

But cobia is still great fun to catch and eat, the local markets carry it once they start bringing them in.

How long is Cobia available down there? Seems like we had it once at Dewey's in mid-June, but it was gone later that seem week. Does that seem right?
