1st Time Visitor

Our son will be working in Rehoboth Beach at a golf club this summer and we are planning to come for a visit. We'd like to be on the beach but at a reasonable cost. Probably just the 2 of us traveling. Any suggestions? What do you know of the Beach View Hotel?

Beach View Motel is a fine place! It's a moderate/family-oriented place right near Funland (rides and games). It's about a half-block from the beach, so I don't think you'll have views of the water. If you're coming in the height of summer, that area can be a bit loud -- it's right in the heart of everything. Great location if you like activity.

"Reasonable cost" and "on the beach" are somewhat incompatible goals. I love the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel, which is right on the beach, but we find it too expensive ($300+ per night) in the summer.

Atlantic Sands is on the beach and slighly less dear than the Boardwalk Plaza. There are a couple nice properties on Rehoboth Ave that are within a couple blocks of the beach..

You might also look into Dewey Beach. It abuts Rehoboth on the south. Family oriented and a range of accomodations with 2 blocks of the beach. Very short ride or trolley into Rehoboth for the excellent dining choices there (including Victorias at Boardwalk Plaza)

Delaware Tourism Office What's this?

other hotels to consider are Hotel Rehoboth, Atlantis Inn, Breakers Hotel and Brighton Suites. Rehoboth is small town, so even is your hotel is 1-3 blocks from the beach - you're in good shape. The majority of the restaurants (excluding beach fare) are located approx 2-3 blocks from the boardwalk. Things to do - take a walk along the boardwalk (one mile long each way) or rent a bike and ride the boards and through town. (bikes aren't permitted on the bw after 9 or 10....check the signs) Check out Tanger Outlets - its about one mile from the boardwalk and is full name brand stores that offer tax-free goodies. Visit nearby Lewes - fantastic, quaint town 10 miles north of RB. Dewey Beach is another nearby town for live music and cold drinks. have fun!!!

In general, rates change based on the week. Late July and August are the 'peak' season with the highest rates. To keep costs down, early June usually has the best rates. The last week in August tends to be less, except for Labor Day weekend.
