Experts please help! Fastest way there from CT?

hi, we are leaving in a couple weeks on a Friday morning about 7AM and driving to Rehoboth Beach. Could you please tell us the fastest/best way? We are assuming it will take us about 8 hours. Some have said to take the Cape May ferry over. We don't care if it's a few extra bucks to take the ferry over. We just don't want to sit in any traffic if we don't have to. Thank you very much for your help.

No offense to the people that love it, but since you're from CT and probably have eaten pizza in NYC, you'll most likely think Grotto is awful. We're from central NJ and go to Bethany/Rehoboth a few times each summer. Pizza is something we'll never eat down there again.

jacksdad, you could be tarred and feathered for saying that in Rehoboth.

I happen to agree with you, but have the common sense to keep my mouth shut.

daddio & jacksdad,

Third that opinon. SO greasy!! We actually don't eat much pizza at all, but if we're in the mood when we're at the beach, we head for Louie's on Rehoboth Ave.

Thats why I use an alias. They won't know who to tar and feather.

dkb10, realized we kinda got away from your queries on restaurants. So:

* best ice cream: Ice Cream Store (crazy flavors!); Royal Treat; Cold Stone Creamery (a franchise location but good)

* best mexican: El Mariachi, Dos Locos, La Tonalteca

* best italian: Adriatico or Lupe di Mare (very different experiences; read reviews & check menus to decide)

* best seafood/clams: fish -- Big Fish; fish & shellfish -- Fins or Henlopen City Oyster Bar; many other restaurants with fabulous seafood on a more varied menu

* best vegetarian: Green Man Juice Bar & Bistro; Back Porch Cafe has a daily veg. entree
