First Trip To Hawaii

We are planning a trip to Hawaii for next March. 2 adults, 2 teenagers. I haven't really picked an island yet but some of the things we would like to do

-- see a volcano

-- see some plantations

-- hike

-- see some surf

-- try some local cuisine & atmosphere

-- relax and enjoy the scenery

We will be coming from Toronto so the Ohau is attractive only because it would put an end to some long travelling :)

When on vacation we usually like to stay in a resort, but rent a 3 bedroom villa so we can relax and cook some of our own meals. We also like a bit of quiet, we're not much on nightlife.

I like the Wyndham resort at poipu beach but this is on Kauai. Will we be able to tour what we would like if we stay there? Can anyone recommend this resort based on experience?

Otherwise can anyone recommend similar quality resorts.

Thanks -- any and all input appreciated.

Sorry - somehow you've landed on the forum for the little beachy part of Guatemala called Hawaii. The forum you want is here:
