Our first vacation to Bethany Beach was nothing short of fantastic. We've been to many beaches and we all agree this was our favorite. We stayed in a townhouse in North Bethany (Tower Shores development); open the door onto the sand. Can't get any better! The sand was wonderful, not shelly like FL. Beach was private to the area which was awesome. Very family friendly, quiet. Lots of kids but never felt crowded. Never been to a beach where everyone leaves their umbrellas and chairs out all week. Kids loved body surfing, boogey and skim boards. Waves were wonderful. We spent more time at the beach on this trip than ever before because of the convenience.
Had dinner at several places:
Matt's Fish Camp (within walking distance of townhouse and excellent)
Jimmy's in Dewey Beach (great open air bar with very good burgers)
Hooper's Crab House in West Ocean City, MD - cool place; great food
Higgin's Crab House in Ocean City, MD - not as good as Hooper's; expensive; good service but atmosphere not so great
Warren's Station - excellent diner style, great for families, great prices; known for turkey dinner which was HUGE for $9.95
Irish Eyes in Rehoboth - loved it
Bethany Beach boardwalk - small but family friendly and cute
Rehoboth Beach boardwalk and town - loved it!!!
Ocean City, MD - crazy crowd, huge, great people watching, 3 miles long!
Assateague Island, MD - the best! See the wild horses up close and personal - the beach is beyond BEAUTIFUL!!!
