Swine Flu

Is anyone concerned about Swine Flu in the casino? Many buses arrive from NYC everyday. Is anyone changing their plans to go to Mohegan Sun this week?

Not changing my plans, but I'm not the type of person who lets things like that bother me either. It was the same thing with Asian Bird Flu and EEE and all that. Can't let it dictate your life or you'd never leave the house.

I agree with Diva. From what I have read, Swine Flu is mostly a problem in Mexico. It won't stop me from going places including Mohegan Sun. I hate when the media scares people so bad they don't want to leave their homes.

My friend works for the Department of Public Health here in CT. I asked her this morning if I should be scared out of my wits and whether I should stockpile masks and liquid soap. I even went as far as to ask her to grab me some Tamiflu when it rolls into her office. She basically called me crazy and told me to wash my hands frequently and do not get on a plane or go to Mexico. Other than that, she seems very calm and might even be thinking I am a bit crazy. No reason to panic yet, I guess.

Husband and I are going down on Saturday night for a few hours. I agree with the previous poster - if you let the media dictate how you run your life, then none of us would ever leave the house.

if you think about the thousands of people who handle the chips and push the slot machine buttons and there hasnt been a major outbreak of disease, we are probably safe for now. although i do consider bringing wipes with me and wiping down the machine before using it.
