Directly from the Boss' mouth: Cabaret will not open@MS

Mr Etess, When will the cabaret re-open. Can you tell me who you have booked for 2009 so far. Thanks.

guest:

NY

Unfortunately there are no plans at this time for the Cabaret to reopen and there is nobody booked as of now for this year. We are assessing what is the best use for the room and what will create the most excitement and entertainment for our guests

This was from an on-line chat that takes place

once a week from 12-2pm on theDay.com

I will miss the Cabaret.

me too, i saw some great shows there, my favorite was the rat pack, it is a shame because the arena is too big for some shows and the wolf den too small, i will never forget the night alice cooper appeared in the wolf den, here is a band that used to sell out the nassau coliseum, they were so loud you could hear them throughout the casino, all the older women playing slot machines were complaining.

I thought of what POSSBLE change could come to the CABARET space.

A loud niteclub for 20 somethings. Like MIXX at the Borgata. It makes money

for Mohegan Sun but it eliminates the cozy venue the Cabaret was to see great acts. I always used to

get the couches dead center. I can't believe it's over.

I wish the economy turns around soon, but in reality

that prospect does not look so good.

The original Mohegan Sun was a fantastic place to go. The Arena. The Cabaret. The Wolf Den. Now, it seems they are booking more acts into the Wolf Den

to take the place of the Cabaret. American Idol acts.

Oh Well.

I thought of that. But they have thousands that sit empty on a GOOD night.

The reason I think Niteclub, is that it's near the garage entrance. They could fill it with music from

a DJ that doesn't cost a lot (even a guy from the in-house Radio Station.

$12.50 drinks.Pizza $25 . . . $20 cover . . just to be in a loud dark disco. Maybe even after one hour the kids go to the tables and lose their shirts.

On Friday and Saturday

it could clean up.

I saw Cirque Holidaze a few months ago. That was my first time in the cabaret theater. Honestly, I was surprised how big the place was. It's bigger than the Wolf Den!

The Wolf Den is a great place to see a show but really it should be bigger especially for big name acts when there is a huge line and they are turning people away.

Now they are having so many cover bands. It's cool but not as fun as seeing the real thing.

So, I guess the true answer is to turn it into a nightclub on Fri/Sat only but still use it for live acts. Maybe some of the bigger bands that play the Wolf Den should play there?
