Transport advice from NH to hotel in NYC

Hello there,

Just a quick question: We (2 people with 2 big suitcases and two carry on size bag) will be commuting from New Haven early July to a hotel in Manhattan (don't know which area yet), would like advice on the best way to get to NYC and cost.

Thank you in advance :-)

commuting denotes multiple trips- Is this correct? or is this just a single trip? Do you define the best as the cheapest, quickest, most efficient, or the one which puts you closest to the unnamed and unknown hotel?

Given no facts, the generic answer would be train and taxi. This would not necessarily be cheapest but most direct route. Cost depends on your taxi ride and you can look up the train cost on Amtrak.

Hi,

You do not want to go take a taxi from New Haven to NYC!

Metro-North will take you from NH to Grand Central Station, NYC. Amtrack will take you into Penn Station, NYC but for more money. For all the info you need to get to NYC checkout:

Good Luck :)

Thank you Sunflower for the info- it seems like a taxi would be too expensive. Will have to choose bet MetroN and Amtrack.

Thanks neslaw.
