We've had a favorite restaurant in Naugatuck for fried seafood and pizza. John's Pizza on Rubber Ave. Sadly, they are going downhill quickly.
They redeemed themselves with regard to pizza a few weeks ago (let's see if they can repeat the performance), but their fried seafood, particularly fried calamari, has become a pain in the butt to order for take-out. They don't cap the marinara sauce container, so that spills all over the calamari, which makes it soggy. Then, the calamari is so hot it burns through the container and, if you forget to ask for a bag, it leaves a grease puddle on your car seat. I've brought this to their attention about a dozen times now.
So, sad to say, I think I'm in the market for a new place. Any thoughts? Oh, we do not like thin crust pizza. If it's a place where we can at least order thicker crust, we'll try it though. But dang, there's gotta be someplace local a girl can get fried calamari.
All opinions and thoughts welcome. Thanks.
