Snowmobiling... Winter Park or Grand Lake?

Is it worth going to Grand Lake to snowmobile? We will be staying in Winter Park, so it would be more convenient to stay close to home, but it it worth the trip up to Grand Lake?

Pat, snowmobiling is not my thing but this will bump your post and hopefully provide some insight. It is less than an hour from Winter Park to Grand Lake even in the winter. Grand Lake is known as the snowmobiling capital of Colorado and is ranked as one of the top 10 snowmobiling destinations in the U.S. grandlakechamber.com/snowmobiling_trails.html

I have friends who live in Pueblo, Colorado and one of the highlights of their year is to go to Grand Lake for snowmobiling. They prefer Grand Lake to any other place in Colorado they have tried.

Check out snowest.com there is tons of info on there about grand lake. We are heading there in a few days to snowmobile. Recommendation is on the trail rentals we will be going thru them for our sled rentals.
