1st Time to Snowmass

Have planned a last minute family trip to Snowmass. Never been there before. Kids and I are looking forward to variety of trails. Wife is a 20 year green trail skier. Will not try anything else. Concerned about only 6% green. Will there be enough there for her? Will shuttle over to other area mountains but most time will be at Snowmass. Can she ski in and out of Crestwood condos with ease? Also any feedback on Crestwood in general? Thanks

Crestwood is nicely located just above the Elk Camp gondola. It's an older building and there's been some updating but not sure if all the rooms are out of the 1970s yet. See TA reviews.

re: wife . . . 20 yrs of green trails? All of you get on the Elk Camp gondola and have her get off at the first stop. Let her be and the rest of you head on up to the top and start with Bull Run. She can do Funnel run all day or take Adams Avenue (watch for uphill cross traffic) which will swing her back around to Fanny Hill.

I think an easy blue run is Naked Lady with access off of Alpine Springs lift. Totally groomed and far less crowded than the other two greens. All of you can have fun in this area plus Gwyn's High Alpine restaurant is off to the right at the top of the lift. They offer a white tablecloth eating area and a cafeteria style line. I think the food at either is excellent.

As Tex (and TA reviews) says, some units are more updated than others. Snowmass is a wonderful place to ski & you should have a great time.

They have a great ski school too, so maybe a day or two of private lessons for your wife would be beneficial.
