cog railroad

From the one answer it sounds like you don't get to pick your seats. Is that right? Are the 2 seats going up different then coming down as far as the view? Thanks.

The three seat side will offer the most unobstructed views if the windows are up for part of the journey and you want beautiful scenic pictures without heads in them and windows in the way.

The two seat side we chose as we have a family of four and wanted to be together that way. Had we known otherwise we would have chosen the three seat side for the view.

Others have said you can't request, but I specifically remember doing so, ahead of time maybe provides more options that way or depending who you talk to. Or things could have changed in how they handle that since we've been there.

In the beginning the two seat side has more of the views but most of the journey it's the three seat side and since it just goes back down the same way you'll have the same view.

In the end it's enjoyable either way, no matter where you're seated it's just nice to have a heads up and plan accordingly.
