Shopping for snowboards in Denver for a day

Hi

We are arriving into denver and not leaving for breakenridge till 2 days later. We are a family of 5 2 ad 3 kids and want to buy all our ski stuff as we are staying in breakenridge for 2 weeks.

Where is the best place to buy ski gear as we will be there on 21st December 2013 .

Oh and any suggestion on a ok place to stay for a family of 5 close to eating places or is near the airport better.

Thanks

Others may chime in on large sporting goods stores in and around Denver but, if you're looking for quality gear, I'd hold off on buying equipment until you get to the resort.

Are you sure you want to buy then lug all that back to Queesnland? You can rent top flight equipment at the resort. Just a thought.

I believe I've been told the cost difference makes buying equipment in the US one of the perks of a Colorado ski vacation for Australian visitors. If that's the case, you'll find a much better selection of quality gear when you get to Breckenridge.

Thanks for all your help. We will use the ski stuff again as will be skiing Japan next year and the kids don't need quality gear as they grow so quickly. Just if it can last a year then off to the opp shops we are happy. We are trying to extend our stay so may even be 3 weeks so hiring not an option as friends say you can get basic kids snowboard packages for about $200 but the haven't stayed in this area.

If you do want to shop for gear in Denver I think the best bigger shop is Colorado Ski and Golf. They have a few locations around town. The one near the Park Meadows Mall is a bit newer, quite large and has a huge selection.
