Pikes Peak/Cog Train

We plan to do the Cog Train while we are there next week. We would go Fri, Sat or Sun. Which day and time would be best?

Are buying tickets online ahead of time highly recommended?

I definitely would reserve ahead of time. Probably Fri. morning would be best. It tends to cloud up in the afternoon.

Springschick covered it - buy in advance and go in the morning. If you aren't able to buy in advance, it is always worth checking to see if there re tickets. And weather, of course, is unpredictable. But to be on the safe side, morning will generally be better for weather.

morning is better, reservations are best. You'll possibly glimpse more wildlife on the morning train. Also instead of breaking up the day it frees up the day from 11AM onwards (cog ride 8-11).
