Beginner Skiers

Where would you recommend to stay for beginner skiers and kids 9 and 6. Close to Peak 8 or 9.

Beaver Run is a great place to stay with kids - lots to do and very close to lifts and ski school.

Powderhorn a few minutes walk to the Quicksilver lift.

Relative to Beaver Run: probably about a 15 minute walk if you did it. But you will only need to go to the Quicksilver lift. They have a small kids ski place there (guessing for like 2,3,4 yr olds) and if you need to get to Beaver Run lift, ride up the Quicksilver and ski down.

Powderhorn is a good location. Easy flat walk to the south end of main st.

I think the beginner runs on 9 are a bit easier than over on 8. They are really wide, a good length and practically flat.

The base area at 9 isn't quite as crowded as over on 8, in my opinion. Once they get there, most of the more advanced skiers in the area will stick to the higher elevation lifts like Falcon over on 10 and Mercury, rather than going all the way down to the base of the Quicksilver lift. That's good because you won't have to worry (as much) about people screaming down the beginner runs and plowing you over (as frequently)!

Peak 9 also has Ripperoo's forest for the ski school kids.
