Lunch suggestions near Peak 9

We'll have 1 hour break during our ski lesson for lunch and if eating on slopes offers poor value what are some other good and reasonable suggestions.

And what's best right on slopes?

Maggie's - it is all expensive and in one hour that is pretty much your choice. Consider packing a lunch if on a budget.

Thanks. Is it easy to get over to Empire Burger during lunchtime? Or too much hassle to get there and back to ski school in about an hour?

You could pull it off (Empire) but ditch the ski boots so you can walk faster.

Also, Mi Casa is just across the street and they usually get food out pretty quickly.

True MiCasa would be a good option but you will have to hustle - maybe get the phone number and order take out when you are released from the lesson. (You could do that for Empire too) By the time you get off the hill, get off your equipment and store it, have bathroom breaks, and walk to where you will eat it will have been a half hour - and then you still need to gt all your gear back on so that gives you about 15-20 minutes to order and eat. Not much time.

Check whether Spencers still does its salad buffet - it used to be all you can eat for about $10 I think.

Is the Peak 9 restaurant as bad as reviews suggest? It seems like a neat place to lunch at?

it's ok if you are on the go. Otherwise standard mtn fair... which means avg food at above average prices.

Spencer's would be worth a look but is sometimes $$$$

Just got back. Here was my experience with the Maggie. Food was very overpriced with least expensive item being vegetarian chili clocking in at $9.

Chicken tender basket about $11 and burger about same with no fries. Small soft drink was $3.95.

Food was not as great as what was charged for it. Main advantage was the convenience.

Smart money could consider the Quandry Grille just step from the Maggie. A takeout dinner for 4 for $24 that gets you a whole chicken or 1.5 lb of BBQ with 2 sides (fresh veggies were great) for $24 and picnic it.

We did Empire Burger once and it's an ez walk from Peak 9 base. And no wait at lunchtime even though there was a huge spring break crowd. Much better burger. We brought it back to eat at Maggie and bought drinks there
