The Lodge or Carneros Inn

I'm in two minds whether to book the Lodge and stay in Sonoma or go for the Carneros Inn in Napa. It's a more per night but the difference is small enough to question. Does any one have any insight? We do want to visit wineries in Napa and Sonoma.

Not sure why you posted on the Yountville Forum (will you mostly be there?) At any rate, it depends upon your itinerary and personal desires. If you're primarily seeking a luxury retreat where much of your time will be spent on-premises, the Carneros Inn would be ideal. If you'll be mostly out and about visiting wineries and seeing the sights, the Lodge at Sonoma may be more convenient. You should also map out the wineries you plan to visit (and other stops) and see which place of lodging is best situated. If you haven't read the recent TripAdvisor reviews for each, you'll gain more insight on each property by doing so.
