Taking parents on a road trip

We want to take our parents on a short road trip to the Avenue of the Giants. We will be driving down the coast from Florence. We are staying at the Requa Inn for a night (they provide breakfast & we can have dinner there in the evening), driving the Ave of the Giants to Shelter Cove or nearby and want to stay in a B&B on the coast or some place that includes breakast & restaurants nearby.

We are allowing four to five days for the trip and we don't want to drive much past Shelter Cove but willing to go a little further if there are ocean view places to stop. Any suggestions of B&Bs or home stays vs hotels, motels and inns? My in-laws prefer B&Bs.

You might want to post this in the Shelter Cove forum instead of the Shingletown forum, as they are quite a long distance apart.

I have driven to Shelter Cove, and whatever it looks like on the map is not how you actually experience it. It is along, slow drive over a mountain on a 2-lane road - as I recall it was about 30 miles from Avenue of the Giants, but took a very long time to drive. Once you get to Shelter Cove, that is all there is - the little community. It isn't near anything else and getting back to the Avenue of the Giants is another long drive.

Yeah, this forum is not exactly active :-) The last thread was almost 3 years ago.

Requa Inn great choice

Inn of the Inn of the Lost Cove is nice as they have a casual restaurant (pizza/breakfast)
