Any suggestions on good wineries, restaurants or bars for a girls weekend in Santa Rosa??
I would check out Matanzas Creek in Santa Rosa. If you go to nearby Healdsburg, there are lots of great restaurants on the Healdsburg Plaza. Willi's Seafood and Wine Bar is very nice, there is also Bistro Ralph, Ravenous and Barndiva in this area. Dry Creek Kitchen would be a wonderful place for dinner in Healdsburg. There are several tasting rooms around the Plaza, we loved Kendall-Jackson.
You could venture out to the Dry Creek wine region, don't miss Ferrari-Carano. We were in Healdsburg for the weekend last month, I have reviews of the places I have mentioned. If you like to spa, Sonoma is not too far away and the Sonoma Mission Inn would be a fantastic place to "chill" for a few hours. Enjoy your girl's weekend in the wine country! :)
Lots of good restaurants right in Santa Rosa; just depends on where you're staying and how far you want to walk/drive. A great place to go for dinner is Jack and Tony's (www.jackandtonys.com) on 4th St. They have a nice bar there, too. Flavor (www.flavorbistro.com) at Old Courthouse Square is another good place. Railroad Square is full of activity, so definitely consider going there during your weekend. Fun antique and kitschy shops abound and great restaurants, too. For a wine bar/wine tasting in that location, go to the Wine Spectrum (123 4th St.) and also to the Cellars (133 4th St.). For an upscale lounge and restaurant: John Ash & Co. at the Vintners Inn (http://vintnersinn.com/dining.asp) in northern Santa Rosa.
Staying in Santa Rosa you'll be very close to numerous wineries in the Russian River, Alexander and Dry Creek Valleys. (See www.wineroad.com). In the Santa Rosa area, Matanzas Creek Winery is a great place to go, as is Paradise Ridge Winery which has an oak-studded location in the Fountaingrove area, high on a hill overlooking Santa Rosa.
SyrahGirl's recommendation to visit the charming town of Healdsburg is a good one--lots of upscale boutique shops in the central Plaza area. Have lunch or just a fabulous, unique mixed drink at Willi's Seafood & Raw Bar (403 Healdsburg Ave.)--but if you do, you may be tempted to just spend the entire afternoon there!
