Venice Beach or Santa Monica

We'll be there for 3 days. Flying in Friday morning, I'm thinking we'll spend the day at Universal Studios and stay over either Venice Beach or Santa Monica. Which is a bit safer or better? Come Saturday, we can hang out the area during the day.

1. Re: Venice Beach or Santa Monica

Both Venice Beach and Santa Monica is fun.

As with all large cities, you'll want to take normal precautions but you'll find families enjoying both areas....

If you just want to lay on the beach, take a long walk, have a great lunch, and watch the world famous body builders, Venice Beach is your place.

If you like the beach but a little more action, then recommend Santa Monica. Perhaps the Best Western Ocean View Hotel.

Its:

0 mile(s) from Palisades Park

.1 mile(s) from Santa Monica beach and pier, featuring a new roller coaster, other new rides and lots of entertainment

.2 mile(s) from the famous Third Street Promenade, and Santa Monica Place Mall with hundreds of fun places to walk and shop

So - its really your choice.

Lazing on the beach.....Venice

More action...Santa Monica.

Have fun.
