Possible Bachelorette Weekend in SB

Planning a bachelorette weekend for early Feb in the Santa Barbara area for a group of 20 somethings. We would like to enjoy some nice restaurants, bars/nightlife and plan on doing a wine tour. We are looking at a house located in Carpinteria. Is this close enough to entertainment..? We are unfamiliar with the area, crowd etc..any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Carpinteria itself is a quiet town, a twenty to thirty minute drive east of Santa Barbara. There are nice restaurants in Carpinteria, but the real partying happens in Santa Barbara. The Funk Zone and Urban Wine Trail in Santa Barbara is really hopping nowadays. Lower State St is traditionally the party area. You might prefer staying in Santa Barbara - cheaper taxi ride. The West Beach neighborhood has a good selection of hotels combined with walking access to dining, attractions, State St. and the Funk Zone.

Agree with Locrian_47 on all counts: Stay in SB and check out the Funk Zone (wine tasting rooms and a few other bars) and lower state street (where a lot of the bars and clubs are at).
