Looking for a nice restaurant with a good menu and a quiet spot for someone with a definite hearing problem.

1. Re: restaurants

A quiet restaurant is an endangered species here. The trouble isn't always the restaurants, it's often the loud culture. Somehow, popular is equated with loud.

Some higher end restaurants that are on the quiet side: Alexanders in Cupertino, Chez TJ in Mountain View, Bella Vista in Woodside.

Loon Wah in Cupertino is fairly quiet at dinner time. It's a loud hectic zoo at lunch/dim sum time though.

Kabul at Hollenbeck and El Camino in Sunnyvale might work?

A few chain restaurants can be quiet like Baja Fresh [I've successfully talked some managers into turning down their background music.], Cocos and Carrows.

2. Re: restaurants

the higher end restraunts are more quiet. Hotel De Anza has a nice place inside, try there, also in downtown Campbell, A Bellagio Italian Restaurant, is excellent and one of my favorites
