Wine tour from San Jose

Hi, I am based in India and will be in San Jose for about 2 weeks. I am interested in taking a wine trip but do not drive? I was looking at Napa or Sonoma but am told that some Santa Cruz or Carmel valley wineries may be an interesting option as well. Would anyone know however if there are any organized wine tours from San Jose?

You can visit J. Lohr which is close to downtown San Jose and easy to get to:

You can also take daily tours on Golden State Wine Tours

http://www.goldenstatewinetours.com/

They do both Santa Cruz and Livermore valleys....and you might want to contact them for more informaiton.

There is a south bay tour but it only runs occasionally.

Here is the information on that in case you are in town when one of these special events go on.

Have you come out here yet?

Your options may not be so good here if you don't drive.

The first really good local wineries that come to mind are:

(1) Ridge Vineyards. 17100 Monte Bello Road, Cupertino, CA 95014. weekends 11h00-16h00 (408) 867-3233

(2) Rosenblum in Alameda

and

(3) Santa Cruz galore. Bonny Doon is the first that comes to mind.
