My family and I are considering staying at GEVC at Lighthouse Pointe thru RCI and wondered if it is worth the stay?
Very cozy and comfortable for couples.
This location is probably the newest for miles in any direction. Clean, quiet with a pool, spa, bbq area, trees, and on-site restaurant. The units are like a long cabin - about 12' wide and 50' long. A living room area at the front with a fold-out bed, fireplace and TV/DVD. A modern kitchen and table with four chairs, a bathroom with tub/shower, and a bedroom with two lamps, desk and TV. Central heat. Parking next to your unit. Daily trash and recycling collection. Maid service once a week. Centrally located for beaches and activities from Fort Bragg on the north down to Sea Ranch to the South. Cook in or dine out. Four steps up to front door make it a challenge to those in a wheel chair.
Did you enjoy your stay here? Any recommendations? Are you driving distance to San Fransisco
Just finished a relaxing week there and definitely not that far from San Francisco! We live near Sacramento and it took us almost 5 hours. The rooms are really cozy and clean! The fireplace was a welcome plus each afternoon and the service staff went out of their to accommodate! Very quiet, peaceful setting and just minutes from the ocean/ lighthouse views. We would have loved to walk around more and walk down to the beaches but unfortunately my husband is awaiting hip surgery so we just drove as near as we could to take in the wonderful sea breezes! Had fabulous lunch twice at the Chowder House on e little pier. Their is a full kitchen and that was great to eat in and heat up food brought along. If you are looking for some relaxation...go here! Was good for the body and the soul......Edited: 7:16 pm, October 12, 2013
Funny that its not listed on Tripadvisor. We got a deal thru RCI for $200 for the week. We stayed Feb 21 to 26. The other reviews are pretty accurate. Be aware that food is pretty expensive to eat out. Consider eating out at lunch and cooking dinner. There is a safeway in Fort Bragg. Lots of stuff to do in the area.... though a lot more in summer. The rocky beach at the pier is a great place for tidepooling. You will probably find some abalone shells at low tide. The casino has the most reasonably priced food in the area for eating out.
