Pinot Noir in Paso Robles

HI

Can anyone suggest winerys that offer great Pinot? Of course I want great prices, but spending $30-$70 for a great bottle is fine. Thanks!

From my experience and drinking! I don't consider the Paso area the best for pinots. The best reds in the area tend to be heavier and more full bodied and made form grapes that aren't as delicate as the pinot. I'm a full pinot lover, but don't drink many from paso. There are a lot of really nice blend wines and big zins that I adore from the region.

San Luis Obispo wineries specialize in Chardonnay.

Paso Robles is still your best bet for finding Pinot Noir. The link I posted in my first response lists all the wineries that produce that varietal. Wild Horse in nearby Templeton does Pinot and their wines have won several awards:

As others have mentioned Paso isn't known for great Pinot's. It is a cool climate grape, however, there are some vineyards in Paso with microclimates cool enough to produce fantastic fruit/wine. Here are a few suggestions:

Jack Creek Cellars

Asunsion Ridge

RN Estate

Windward

Adelaida Cellars

Hope you enjoy Paso Robles!

For some awesome Zin, don't miss Turley in Paso. Wild Coyote is known as "the house of reds" and they also produce some very nice Zins and Merlots. Enjoy the wine country! :)
