Paso Robles: B&B's in town?

We're celebrating my hubbie's 50th BD in Paso Robles wine region in May (the weekend betweeen two festivals.)

He prefers a B&B or hotel in town (so we can walk to coffee, dinner, etc.) rather than in the country (requirint cabs, driving after wine, etc.).

We've found several lovely choices 2-5 miles out of town, not so lucky in town.

Any suggestions?

OR . . .

We've never been to this area and plan to spend one day visiting wineries, another playing golf and a third visiting Hearst Castle, etc. So is PR the right place to stay? Are there other quaint towns to stay in closer to or on the coast?

Thanks!

Hi travgal

Yes, there's the wonderful small coastal town of Cambria with a few charming B&B's within walking distance to restaurants, coffee, etc. and within a 25 minute drive to Paso's west side wineries: The Olallieberry Inn and the Squibb House. The Olallieberry is a short distance from the East Village shops and restaurants, while The Squibb House is right in the thick of shops and restaurants. The Olallieberry has a creek running behind it and would be the quieter of the two options.

There are a few B&B options in Paso Robles, but I have but I have no personal knowledge of their proximity to restaurants, etc.: Villa Toscana & Vine Street Inn.

Have you checked out the Hotel Cheval in Paso? You can walk to Artisan from this hotel and several other restaurants in the area. If you stay in Cambria, the Blue Whale Inn is very nice. www.centralcoast.com Have fun! :)

There are only two hotels in the downtown core of Paso Robles. Hotel Cheval and the Paso Robles Inn.

There are about 14 or more Paso Robles Vacation Rentals scattered within a 6 block radius that could house you. They are mixture of sizes from California Historical Registered Homes to contemporary cottages.

The one Bed & Breakfast is Vineyard Inn on Vine Street.

Everyone of these homes, hotels and the Inn would make for a great comfortable way to see the town walking.

Central Coast pedicabs provides bicycle carriage shuttle for taxi home in evening. they will pick you up at your home.

Have Fun
