Pre-Parade Floats

We just found out we're going to be in Pasadena on Sunday, 12/30 and would like to see some of the Rose Bowl parade floats. Looking online, I saw that you can buy tix ahead of time. Do you really need to get them in advance? Also, it says there are two spots to view them. Does one ticket get you in to both spots or do you need two tickets?

Any info would be great!

The Tournament of Roses website has good information.

In addition, there are (free) places to see smaller, community-built floats being finished by local volunteers . One of these is the South Pasadena float, which can be seen in it's construction spot, in a tent just behind the War Memorial Building in South Pasadena. 435 South Fair Oaks, South Pasadena, opposite the OSH hardware store shopping center.

You don't need to pre-buy them and one ticket gets you into the pavilions by the Rose Bowl and there is plenty of parking.

There will also be vendor stands open so you can buy game t-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, programs, etc.

Another free site is in La Canada- It is decorated under the 210 overpass bridge at the corner of 4510 Hampton Road and Foothill in La Canada, CA. If you want a sneak peak of the animation, visit at noon on the 31st- the float will be pulled out into the street for judging, and all of the animation and music will be running. It should also be mainly decorated. Come a little early to find parking!
