Horseback Riding recommendations in the PS area?

While in the PS area we would like to go for a ride into the canyons. Does anyone have a recommendation on which stable to go with? Our primary concern is that the horses are well cared for and treated with respect - then scenery, reasonable rates, and knowledgeable guides.... any opinions would be appreciated.

Try Smoketree Stables. Look for the longer trail ride thru the indian canyons, which has streams and palm groves.

Hi, My wife has been to smoke tree a couple of times and loved it.

One tip would be if you are a regular rider then pay the extra and book a personal trip or see what they can do. If not you may be stuck with novice people and it might be a bit slow and dull. If you don't go riding often then the group ones will be fine.

We went for a two hour ride at Smoketree just last week. I was very pleased with the horses and helpful friendly staff. The ride is to the canyon but not thru the canyon. In fact two hours was just enough time to ride there and back. I didn't mind because we have driven to the canyons and hiked them but if you're expecting a ride through the canyons you might want to call SmokeTree and make arrangements.
