Memorial Day, 2013

Will Palm Springs be relatively lively on Memorial Day weekend?

I know the weather is beginning to get hot and would love to escape the fog. But I don't want to come to a town that's in the throes of "closing" after the season has ended.

Thanks for any insight!

Very few places close down for summer anymore. That is a thing of the past. There are plenty of full time residents around to keep the restaurants and bars open and in business.

It won't be nearly as busy as in high season, but it won't be a ghost town either.

We go out for a 4 day weekend over Memorial Day, as do many of our friends along the west coast. The Palm Springs desert area will not be closing down. All restaurants and hotels will be busy this time of year. I've heard a few close down in the middle of summer to Labor Day, but not as many as in the past.

We have our dinner reservations made, as it will be that busy in some of the popular restaurants.

Go and have a great time.

Nothing closes down until after 4th of July anymore. Memorial day will be busy but not crazy busy. If there is a popular place you would like to dine heed CAnative's advice and make reservations for peak times.
