Valentines Day - and day after birthday celebration

It just so happens this duo is going to be attending to matters near PS such that we'll be there for the 14th. The next day is my husband's birthday. Our days are occupied, but our nights are our time to enjoy.

Since the 14th is on a Thursday, I'm thinking that I'd like to spend that night strolling the weekly street fair. But I'm open to suggestions.

And I definitely welcome ideas for his birthday celebration. From the swank to the ridiculously fun.

The Villagefest on Thursday night should give you some casual food, either from the food booths, to restaurants along Palm Canyon Dr as you walk the few blocks. Some of our favorite swank restaurants in the desert area are (in no order):

Jillian's

Lavendar Bistro

Morgan's in the Desert

Sullivan's of Palm Desert

Should mention too that if the place we chose for his birthday also has some sort of live entertainment, that's in the plus column.

So far the plan is stroll Villagefest for Valentines Day, and I think we'll just hit Woody's for his birthday as there's live music. We really enjoyed ourselves there last year and he expressed an interest in returning. What didn't hurt our experience was having two outstanding drag queens come in to enjoy a cocktail, which just added to the scene.

So you are not doing the swank for his Birthday dinner or another time?

Well, I was open to the variety of possibilities. Swank was just one end of the scale. The birthday boy, as it turns out, is less interested in swank.

Overall we keep things rather loose, so what the evening brings is still to be determined.

Villagefest was very crowded last night.

Yes, when we are there at Easter week, Villagefest is very crowded as well. Holidays seem to bring out more crowds. We try to be there early in the evening.
